Birds of a Feather, Part IV: Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador Received $2,625 From AEHI CEO Don Gillispie in 2010 Primary

The Dude wrote about this contribution right after AEHI CEO Don Gillispie wrote his famous whinypants letter about all the meanies picking on him.

Good Buddies?
Thanks for the $2625.00 , Don!
You're welcome, Raul!  The shareholders will never miss it!
Psst- could you get that pesky SEC off our backs? Love Ya!

According to FEC records, AEHI CEO Don Gillispie made two separate contributions to Labrador's campaign, oddly, both on March 24, 2010, and both for the 2010 Primary Election:

Problem is, that looks like $225.00 too much:

How much is the limit? $2,400According to the FEC:

Contribution Limits
An individual may give a maximum of:
* $2,400 per election to a Federal candidate or the candidate's campaign committee. Notice that the limit applies separately to each election. Primaries, runoffs and general elections are considered separate elections.

And now that it looks like most of Don's money was actually being siphoned off investors, the question now becomes, "When are you going to give the money back, Rep. Labrador?"

Investors, and maybe even the SEC, would like to know.

  1. It's okay. Don will have plenty of time to re-learn the basic principles of addition in prison.

  2. Where did he come up with the other $225? Was the $2,400 not good enough? Special favor?
